DMM Command

Applies to: DMM mode. Can be set and read in any mode; takes effect only in DMM mode.

The DMM command sets the DMM submode (AC, DC and ACDC), DMM frequency (DMM:FREQ) and DMM number of periods (DMM:NOP). This command does not affect the behaviour of the DLOG and OSC modes.

Command Format:

R/W

Command

Response

Description

R

DMM:?

<dmm_submode>

Read the DMM submode

W

DMM:<dmm_submode>

ACK / NAK:x

Set the DMM submode

R

DMM:FREQ:?

<dmm_freq>

Read the DMM frequency

W

DMM:FREQ:<dmm_freq>

ACK / NAK:x

Set the DMM frequency

R

DMM:NOP:?

<dmm_nop>

Read the DMM number of periods

W

DMM:NOP:<dmm_nop>

ACK / NAK:x

Parameter(s):

Name

Type

Allowed values

Default

Description

<dmm_submode>

string

DC

DC

DC is used to measure a Direct Current

<dmm_submode>

string

AC

AC is used to measure an Alternating Current removing its mean value

<dmm_submode>

string

ACDC

ACDC is used to measure an Alternating Current including its mean value

<dmm_freq>

float

47.00 – 63.00

50

Grid / signal frequency in Hz

<dmm_nop>

int

1; 10; 20; 100

1

Allowed DMM number of periods

The DMM:FREQ and DMM:NOP commands determine the output data frequency in DMM mode:

Output data frequency = DMM:FREQ / DMM:NOP

Example(s):

Set the DMM submode DC, set output data frequency to 5 Hz:
