Communication Interface

The CT-BOX is provided with the following communication interfaces:

  • Ethernet TCP/IP 10/100 Mbit;

  • UDP (only for the output data stream in OSC mode);

  • USB 2.0 (only in DLOG mode);

  • RS-232 with a fixed 115 200 baud rate (only in DLOG mode).

The command structure is the same for all communication interfaces, and the device automatically recognizes the interface in use.

Tip

It is strongly suggested to use the standard Ethernet interface, since it does not limit the throughput performance of the device. The RS-232 serial interface (fixed baud rate at 115 200 bps) and USB 2.0 are simpler but less performing, and are therefore subject to restrictions.

Warning

The CT-BOX can only be used in DLOG mode when communicating via the RS-232 and the USB 2.0 interfaces. OSC and DMM modes are only allowed with Ethernet communication.

This chapter describes the network configuration, the ASCII command syntax, the three modes of operation, the resulting data representations and a few practical communication examples.
