Error Register

The internal error register shows the error status of the CT-BOX device that may have occurred during normal device operation. Reading this register allows identifying the actual error(s) of the device. It is read with ERR:? and cleared with ERR:CLR.

The register has the following structure:

Bit #

Bit name

Description

#1

SD mount error

Error in mounting the SD card

#2

SD open error

Error in opening the SD card

#3

SD write error

Error in writing on the SD card

#4

SD sync error

Error in sync operation on the SD card

#5

SD close error

Error in closing operation on the SD card

#6

SD full error

Error that occurs when the SD card is full

#7

SD read error

Error in reading the SD card

#8

Reserved

For internal or future use

#9

DCCT error

Indicates that the DCCT is not connected or is not working properly

#10 – #16

Reserved

For internal or future use

#17

Buffer overflow error

A buffer overflow occurred; to solve this problem it is suggested to reduce the acquisition frequency

#18

DCCT match error

Indicates that the DCCT is not connected, or that it is not the matched DCCT

#19 – #32

Reserved

For internal or future use

Important

The bits of this register act as latches: when an error occurs, the corresponding bit remains high until the general error clear command ERR:CLR is sent to the unit. If the errors have been solved, the relative bits remain 0 after the error clear; otherwise the error bits return high at the next error check, within about 1 s.

The Error condition bit (#2) of the Status Register is a logical OR of the bits of the Error Register, so it is high when one or more bits of the Error Register are high.

Example:

The value 0X00010001 indicates that an SD mount error occurred (bit #1 is high) and that a buffer overflow occurred (bit #17 is high):

ERR:?
0X00010001

ERR:CLR
ACK

ERR:?
0X00000000
